How I See Photography

IMG_4756.jpg

I disagree with Susan Sontag.  I refuse to see photographing (so she says in On Photography) people or any  single, simple, seductive thing as violating them. Nor do I feel photography is a way of possessing, imprisoning Reality or The Past.  But rather, more exhilaratingly, capturing the light presence of all living things.  With camera, I instantly become the solitary wanderer/wonderer.  My eyes wide open, disciplined to see, hold briefly and recall.  Always celebrating and cherishing the vanishing, mutable, ever-passing parade of the always-changing ALL.
